LOGLINE: A coming-of-age story set in the mid2000s underground music scene, that follows Casey, an insecure teenager who videos his brothers’ band and his misfit friends, as a way to navigate the complexities of adolescence.

The film is inspired by the director’s youth and is an ode to the eclectic music scene of metalcore, emo, pop punk and hardcore he grew up in, tackling themes of sexuality, mental health and brotherhood.

We want to be the first to authentically capture “The Warped Tour” generation on the big screen!!

OUR VISION

PROOF OF CONCEPT

Our team created a proof of concept short film that gives audiences a taste of our vision for the feature film. It focuses on one half of the story, the core friend group, Casey, Alex, Rodney and El as they navigate a summer of teenage love and heartbreak. It also paints how we want to tell our story with: authentically edgy characters, colourfully raw cinematography, nostalgic mid2000s needle drops and angst filled world building.

The project was financed through a successful kickstarter campaign and was completed in May 2024. The film marks Dylan Hryciuk’s short film debut and is currently showing in film festivals across North America.
